Let's dive into this project and see how to turn a blank onesie into a cute piece of personalised baby clothing.

Materials Needed

To begin, ensure your Cricut machine is set up correctly. Connect it to your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) using a USB cable or Bluetooth. Open the Cricut Design Space software and make sure your machine is selected in the 'Device' dropdown.

3. Preparing the HTV Vinyl Cut

  • Click on 'New Project.'
  • Click on 'Uploads' and select the 'CUTE' image.
  • Adjust the size according to your onesie size.
  • Ensure 'Mirror' is turned on before cutting HTV vinyl - this is crucial as HTV is cut on the reverse side.
  • Select 'HTV' or 'Iron-On' in the material settings, load the vinyl onto the cutting mat with the shiny side down, and start the cut.

4. Weeding and Applying the HTV Vinyl

  • After cutting, weed out the excess vinyl around the 'CUTE' design using your weeding tool.
  • Position the weeded design on the onesie, ensuring it's centered. The shiny side (carrier sheet) should be facing up.

5. Fixing the design with heat

  • Use an iron or heat press to apply heat to the design. Follow the HTV package instructions for temperature and time settings.
  • Allow the design to cool slightly, then carefully peel off the carrier sheet.

And there you have it! A personalised, adorable baby onesie made with your Cricut machine. This project is perfect for baby showers, birthdays, or just a sweet everyday outfit for your little one.
